Our DC Custodian will be responsible for all custodial needs of the Distribution Center. Responsible for maintaining the Distribution Center in clean and orderly conduct all while in accordance to workplace safety, ensuring the organization remains in compliance with all Federal & State safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general labor to support operation requirements as needed.
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting racks, yard maintenance, etc.
- Process trash removal, empties trash and wastebaskets, cleans and maintains trash chute.
- Assist in grounds maintenance.
- Effectively cleans, sanitizes departments utilizing the proper cleaning methods, equipment and chemicals. Includes cleaning of bathrooms, walls, windows, doors, floors.
- Washes walls, tables, benches.
- Moves and arranges furniture and equipment in preparing rooms for special events or meetings.
- Refills soap and paper product dispensers.
- Cleans window coverings, such as drapes and blinds.
- Picks up paper and other debris from DC grounds, walk areas, and the adjacent areas to the DC facilities.
- Sweeps concrete surfaces adjacent to the DC.
- Performs emergency cleanup service resulting from day to day activities.
- May perform minor maintenance tasks in keeping assigned areas safe and operational.
- May perform routine ground maintenance functions.
- Assists in reporting and preventing vandalism and safety concerns.
- Inspects buildings and grounds for broken equipment and reports needs for repairs.
- Performs special custodial work on request and other related duties as assigned.
- Partner with key Maintenance manager to ensure the warehouse facility meets all OSHA and company requirements
- Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- This type of work may involve ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps and will involve walking or standing for extended periods. Body movements also include frequent bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching. Work may be done on irregular and often wet surfaces.
- Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate equipment and use hand tools, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
- Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather may occasionally be experienced.
- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance, appearance and high degree of professionalism in communication and attitude with customers, teammates, corporate partners and vendors.
- Adhere to all local, federal, and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices. These may include but are not limited to complying with the Company's Time & Attendance policy and procedures and partnering with management to sustain workplace health and safety requirements according to OSHA regulations and the Company safety guidelines.
