SUMMARY: The Facility Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the building and surrounding grounds. This role includes various cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure the premises are well-kept and functional.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including mopping, vacuuming carpets, and dusting.
  • Assist with the moving and arrangement of furniture and equipment.
  • Remove disposable waste from the building and grounds.
  • Clean and restock restroom supplies and office essentials daily.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections and repairs for fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lights, AEDs, eyewash stations, dock doors, entry/exit doors, Detex exit door alarms, and air compressors.
  • Coordinate with contractors for services or repairs not covered by property management (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, garbage compactors, vending machines, etc.).
  • Perform routine floor care on both hard surfaces and carpets, including cleaning and replacement.
  • Handle office repairs such as hanging pictures/boards and painting as needed.
  • Clean and maintain staircases, including painting when required.
  • Replace light bulbs and batteries routinely.
  • Set up for events and meetings as needed.
  • Assist in the construction or modification of equipment, jigs, racks, etc.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to complete group projects and team tasks.
  • Support in Production and Warehouse functions as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education: GED or High School Diploma
  • Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, custodial work, or commercial cleaning is a plus, but not required
  • Mechanical Skills: Basic mechanical maintenance abilities
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, walking, reaching, and climbing for extended periods
  • Teamwork: Strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Certifications: Forklift and Skyjack certification is a plus

Salary: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour

Shift: Afternoons - 11:00 am - 7:00 pm or 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
