POSITION OVERVIEW
The Building Maintenance Technician I is in charge of keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Vacuum and mop all floors daily in your designated areas (Bathrooms, hallways, etc.)
Strip and wax floors as needed
Empty trash and replace it with a new liner in cans.
Trash must be removed daily and taken to the dumpster.
Trash cans are to be washed monthly or as needed during the month to remove dirt and/or spills.
Windows, blinds, and doors - Clean windows and/or doors as requested by the supervisor.
Remove any gum from floors as needed.
Use anti-bacterial wipes and wipe stair railings daily if in your assigned area.
Bathrooms - Clean toilets, sinks, and floors with appropriate disinfectant cleaners.
Clean mirrors and tile walls as necessary.
Refill tissue, paper towels, and soap dispensers.
Dusting - Remove cobwebs from the ceiling and dust all hardware (fire extinguishers, light switches, alarm boxes, etc.) and lockers if in your area.
Remove any dust or cobwebs from windows.
Keep Janitor's room clean, neat and orderly, and stocked with supplies.
Report any supply order request to your Lead Representative.
Opening and closing picnic table umbrellas every day
SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Painting of walls, doors, and railings as instructed by Supervisor.
Pressure cleaning of surfaces as instructed by Supervisor.
Change light bulbs
Replace electrical switches.
Replace air conditioner filters
Plumbing
Changing faucets
Tightening pipes
Changing flush valve diaphragms and fill valve
Replace toilet seats
Set up and break-down special events
Provide carpeting and plastic mats
Chairs
Tables
Build and move portable stage
Unload and distribute shipment contents to appropriate departments/locations
Break down and set up from school to camp and camp to school
Add/remove all furniture from classrooms to storage
Add/remove bumpers to teacher's boards'
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school degree or equivalent
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Good communication skills
Knowledge of various cleaning products/chemicals/supplies and when to use them
Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
Good organization skills
Excellent time-management skills
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work in various weather conditions - heat, rain, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work in various/extreme weather conditions
Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
Prolonged periods of walking or standing
Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and reach
