REPORTS TO : Bakery Operations Manager / Head Baker FLSA : NON-EXEMPT
POSITION SUMMARY : As a Barista you will have the opportunity to get to know and build relationships with our guests. You will learn about their preferences and be able to make recommendations of new items they may want to try. You will serve food and beverage items while creating a positive environment for our guests. The Barista is responsible to make a compelling difference in the lives of our guests. The Barista serves drinks and performs cashier duties.
Requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they enter
- Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keep the bar area clean
- Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
- High School Diploma or GED graduate
- Food Handler Certification required
- Ability to handle stress under pressure
- Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Ability to be flexible with job demands and open minded when being asked to complete tasks
- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the restaurant
- Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant generally weighing 0-50 pounds
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
- Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
Compensation: Hourly ($16.20) plus tips
