Carmel transports the energy, culture, and flavor of the renowned outdoor marketplace Shuk HaCarmel to Melrose Avenue, in the heart of LAs food scene.Using some of the oldest techniques in the world a wood-burning oven, an open flame grill chef Asaf Maoz interprets ancient Levantine cooking traditions through a modern lens. As we approach our first anniversary, Carmel is evolving from a successful launch into a lasting presence on Melrose. At Carmel, the bar is at the center of the restaurant. We're looking for a bartender who can craft exceptional cocktails and bring great energy, setting the tone for the entire guest experience.

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and personable Server to join our team. As a server at Carmel, you are more than just an order-takeryou are a guide through our culinary journey, delivering a dynamic and elevated experience to every guest in an upscale, high energy restaurant setting. You will be responsible for tailoring experiences, providing knowledgeable beverage recommendations, and delivering outstanding, genuine hospitality. You will work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure that guests receive impeccable service and have a memorable dining experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide warm, attentive, and informed service to every guest, reflecting Carmels cultural and culinary ethos

  2. Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system

  3. Guide guests through the menu, offering insight into ingredients, cooking methods, and flavor profiles

  4. Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate order delivery

  5. Maintain knowledge of daily specials, beverage offerings, and any 86d items

  6. Support the bar team by communicating guest preferences and collaborating on pairings

  7. Ensure tables are clean, organized, and properly reset for incoming guests

  8. Handle guest concerns with professionalism and a sense of urgency

  9. Uphold Carmels hospitality standards and contribute to a positive team culture

Requirements:

  1. 4+ years of experience as a server in fine dining and/or craft cocktail environments preferred.

  2. Deep appreciation for global cuisines; knowledge of Mediterranean flavors a plus

  3. Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, and spirits.

  4. Excellent customer service skills with a warm, professional demeanor.

  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  6. Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

  7. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

  8. TIPS certification or equivalent for responsible alcohol service preferred.

  9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  10. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects, including pony kegs (with assistance if needed).
