Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Administrative Sergeant, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the building and grounds; in addition to the maintenance of the automotive fleet. Performs janitorial duties including sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, mopping, waxing and buffing floors; cleans, dusts, and polishes cabinets, desks, counters, and furniture; empties and cleans waste receptacles, cleans walls, windows, and blinds; repairs minor plumbing problems (i.e., gasket leaks); assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment; replaces light globes and tubes as needed; maintains and orders janitorial supplies to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Performs general grounds maintenance at Inland Division (including concrete parking lots). The duties include: pruning, trimming, watering, and maintaining ornamental plantings; maintains and makes necessary repairs to the landscape sprinkler system and adjusts watering levels for current season; ensures parking lot is free of weeds and debris and sweeps sidewalks, and maintains records for facility and grounds.

Working Conditions
Involves heavy lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds. Exposed to varying temperatures and loud noises. The established working hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., on a 9/80 alternate work week.
