Essential Job Functions:

  • Follows recipes and instructions to prepare menu items for service and farmer's markets
  • Prepares meals using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and delicious. Tastes prepared food items.
  • Interacts with guests in a friendly, authentic, and helpful manner to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standard.
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed and in a safe manner.
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment and relationships with coworkers, customers, and managers.
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean environment.
  • Arrive as scheduled for shifts and meetings.
  • Maintain uniform cleanliness and proper attire at all times without exception.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills:

  • Ability to operate a Point of Sales system/cash register, perform basic math, and troubleshoot problems on the fly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and recipes. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Serve Safe Food Handlers Certificate required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $24.00)
