We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to supports the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations to ensure high-quality food preparation, safety, and cleanliness. This role requires hands-on leadership in food production, mentoring kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
This is a full-time, onsite, non-exempt position. The pay range for this position is $20-24/hour.

What You’ll Do
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, including daily food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
- Supervise kitchen staff, provide direction during food service, and ensure timely execution of menu items.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with recipes, presentation standards, and health and safety guidelines.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff; enforce kitchen policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Participate in menu planning, costing, and new dish development.
- Step into the role of Executive Chef when necessary.
- Ensure established restaurant policies and procedures, including service style, are being followed.
- Train staff on all SOPs and ensure there is understanding and compliance.
- Ensure culinary staff is in compliance with local safety and health ordinance regulations.
- To promote and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- Focus on safety and the following of safe work practices by yourself and those under your direction. Including compliance with company safety standards, and state and local regulations that pertain to your department.
- To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
What We're Looking For
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum two years’ experience in similar position in an establishment of comparable quality.
- Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, state liquor laws and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substance.
- Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of restaurant and bar operations and budgets, and have an overall knowledge of foods and beverages, and service standards and procedures.
- Must be computer literate with a knowledge of Word and Excel.
