Nature Facility Park Rentals and Maintenance Worker - Bladensburg Waterfront Park (Seasonal)

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County, Parks and Recreation, Natural Historical Resources Division has an opening for a Nature Facility Park Rentals and Maintenance Worker at B ladensburg Waterfront Park .

The Nature Facility Park Rentals and Maintenance Worker will prepare and provide rental equipment to customers including kayaks, canoes, personal floatation devices, paddles, bicycles, and more, dock work, maintenance of rental boats and bikes, general park maintenance and custodial duties, trash and debris pickup, gardening and landscaping, and other related tasks. Additional duties will include work with the public, staff, and volunteers, and staffing special events including set-up/tear down of events and programs.

• Able to lift around 50 pounds and complete manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.

• High quality customer service skills required.

• Basic maintenance skills desirable.

• Limited supervision and willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks.

• Driver's license preferred but not required.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

WORK CONDITIONS:

This job requires at least one day of weekend work per week, occasional evening shifts, and holidays. Work will be primarily outdoors, in various weather conditions. Manual labor and lifting are required for this position. Work requires multitasking and occasionally busy situations.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

• This is a year-round seasonal/intermittent position that requires roughly 24-32 hours per week, primarily from April through October.

• At least one day of weekend work is required per week.

• This position does not provide benefits.
