Cafeteria Worker
Reports To: Manager of the school Cafeteria. If manager unavailable, assistant manager
Primary Function: Performs tasks necessary for the preparation and serving of meals and the operation and care of cafeteria equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Performs all duties assigned by cafeteria manager. (Individual Job Descriptions)
- Prepares and serves food.
- Operates standard commercial kitchen equipment.
- Performs general cleaning tasks.
- Meets all standards of local, state and federal health and National School Lunch Program regulations.
- Meets all dress code standards set forth in employee guidelines.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents (menus and recipes), operating and maintenance instructions, directions for use, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine explanations, complete necessary paperwork and take written messages. Ability to speak effectively to individuals in relaying verbal instructions and concerns.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to apply ratio and percent concepts to the mixing of solutions and adjustments of recipes. You may be required to learn point of sale operating system maintenance and be accountable for monies taken in.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to establish priority order of tasks necessary to complete an assignment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, to walk, to carry objects, to reach above the head and to bend and reach below the waist. The employee must frequently lift and/or move thirty (30) to fifty (50) pounds. The employee must be able to sweep and mop.
