Qualifications:
Experience prepping, preparing and presenting high-quality food.
Education and Experience:
- Formal culinary training/certification (Preferred)
- Some experience in the culinary or a related field (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general food preparation practices and principles
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for 8 hours
- Ability to lift, carry and move large objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively work unsupervised
- Ability to consistently follow precise directions
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cook and present all food, in a manner that complies with SLCC's highest of standards
- Ensure preparation of all food in accordance with the standards set forth by SLCC
- List mise en place from previous night and prep as required
- Communicate with Chef and Sous Chefs on special service needs
- Inspect station for daily set-up: garnishes, clean towels, sanitizer, plates (hot & cold) and dishes or utensils for efficient service
- Work as a team with fellow employees to ensure the finished product is of the highest quality
