Maintenance Worker

Genesis House of Olean is seeking a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and maintenance for two locations. Successful candidate will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building, ensure facilities are tidy and functional, and have experience and solid technical knowledge. Scheduled hours will be 10 hours per week, additional hours in case of emergency or

special projects. Pay will be $20/hour.

Responsibilities

Perform minor fixes and maintenance such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls,

assembling furniture, painting, replacing lightbulbs, etc.

Install appliances and equipment

Garden/yard upkeep including mowing lawns, dump runs, collecting trash, snow removal,

etc.

Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems

Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations

Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues

Requirements and skills

Experience in basic home repairs

Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

Experience using hand and electrical tools

Ability to identify, consult and advise on maintenance issues that need more assistance

than personally able to provide

Ability to read technical manuals and drawings

Very good communication and interpersonal skills

Physical stamina and dexterity

High school diploma or equivalent

Driver license and vehicle preferred
