Job Description

Basic Purpose

This is a part-time, entry level, role assigned responsibilities involving the care and maintenance of park property. Employees will work with the Lead Groundskeeper in maintaining a property outdoor spaces including lawns, gardens and recreational spaces. Tasks will include things like mowing, weeding, and planting, while also operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment. They might also be involved in tasks like trash removal, snow removal, and checking for safety hazards. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Typical Job Duties

• Cutting grass, weeding, raking leaves, and trimming hedges and bushes.
• Operating and maintaining equipment like mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and trimmers.
• Planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, and performing tasks like mulching, pruning, and deadheading.
• Picking up trash, debris, and snow, and checking playground equipment for safety.
• Dragging, marking, and lining athletic fields.
• Performing other tasks as needed, including addressing public inquiries and assisting with building maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to perform tasks that involve regular bending, stooping, squatting, walking and lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
• This job will involve working with hand tools that will require physical dexterity.
• Some locations will require a valid Drivers License.
