Full-time Sous Chef
Overview:
Terpening Terrace, an independent resort-style retirement facility, is seeking a Sous Chef for its upscale kitchen. The dining room operates from 7 AM to 7 PM, serving approximately 120 senior residents daily. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in meal preparation, staff scheduling, and day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in preparing appealing, nutritious meals following dietary guidelines.
Support kitchen operations, including staffing schedules and maintaining a safe environment.
Ensure compliance with sanitation laws, nutrition standards, and facility management protocols.
Contribute to menu design, food quality control, and cost management within budget guidelines.
Qualifications:
Experience in kitchen operations, meal preparation, and staff management.
Knowledge of food costs, sanitation laws, nutrition, purchasing, and food storage.
Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and alignment with core values: Belonging, Respect, Integrity, Dedication.
Ability to pass criminal background check and drug testing.
