The University Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for the position of Cook within Legends of Notre Dame . The UOES division provides hospitality, event management, and service functions that support the University's mission and various relationships. As an on-call/ temporary Cook with Legends of Notre Dame , you will have the opportunity to work in a great location on campus and gain new skill sets and experiences. The Cook supports daily operations as part of the culinary production team who is responsible for completing assignments related to food preparation, assembly, cooking, and sanitation through standards of service and hospitality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Cold Foods: Assemble salads, sandwiches, and other cold menu items by accurately chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients according to recipe standards.
- Sanitation and Equipment Maintenance: Uphold strict cleanliness and food safety standards by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing work areas, tools, and kitchen equipment on a routine basis.
- Basic Cooking Techniques: Execute a variety of cooking methods, including grilling, frying, and steaming, while ensuring food is prepared to the correct temperature, appearance, and taste within designated timeframes.
- Multitask in High-Volume Production: Efficiently manage multiple cooking stations simultaneously, including grilling, stir-frying, carving meats, deep frying, baking, and live display cooking during peak service times.
- Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor ingredient levels and replenish supplies as needed to ensure seamless kitchen operations, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
- Operate Commercial Kitchen Equipment: Safely and proficiently use culinary knives, stand mixers, fryers, ovens, and other standard commercial kitchen appliances.
