Hopedale Public Schools is seeking a CustodianThis is a 5-day, 27 hour per week, full-year position. 10:30 AM - 4:00 PMABOUT US: The mission of the Hopedale Public Schools is to enable our students to achieve academic, social, and career success. Our curriculum reflects our small size and mission-driven culture with engaging courses, hands-on learning and opportunities to grow both inside and outside the classroom.The building custodian is responsible for general cleanliness, routine repair and upkeep of the building to which they are assigned. This includes the general cleaning, room-event setup and breakdown, routine repair, level-one maintenance of the building and grounds as well as the provision of general assistance to other members of the building staff as needed or assigned. Assist in the school cafeteria during lunch periods.Duties: General cleaning on a schedule that is developed by the Building and Grounds Supervisor and the Building Principal, including equipment control, inventory, rubbish, energy conservation, repair and maintenance, groundskeeping, building systems, security, training, and staff assistance. Additional hours will be required early morning or evening during snow eventsQualifications: Physically capable of performing assigned tasks; cooperative and flexible, capable of recognizing tasks that need to be performed and work independently to complete them; ability to work around frequent interruptions to a planned schedule; contribute to an overall positive atmosphere in a school environment. Licensure in the building trades preferable.Hourly rate is based on experience.
