JOB TITLE: Bartender

The Springfield Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) #2145 is currently accepting resumes for the position of Bartender. This position is responsible for opening and closing the bar as well as setting up of the bar and lounge and serving beverages to our members and guests, taking and serving food orders as circumstances require, scheduling of volunteer staff, and purchasing. The basic weekly assignment schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 4:00 pm until 10:00-11:00 pm, depending upon the business need. Additional bartending or server duties may be necessary on weekends or for special events. The Springfield ELKs is a Charitable Organization
with high family values and is a safe place.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage and schedule volunteer staff. Manage costs and inventory. Serve adult beverages, soft drinks and meals. Preparing adult beverages and cocktails with regularity. Open and close bar. Knowledge of Oregon Lottery Rules and Regulations and handling of lottery pay outs. Compile liquor orders and shop or order bar supplies. Complete side work to include stocking, changing out beer kegs, wiping down counters and tables, etc. Respond to the needs and requests of the members and guests. Display knowledge in and always follow, sanitation and sanitary food and drink handling. Complete other duties as assigned. Keep work areas clean and organized. Report on all unsafe conditions immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 2 years current bartending and beverage serving experience. Must have current knowledge of, and practice in, the mixing and serving of alcoholic beverages. Applicants must have a current OLCC servers license as well as a Food Handlers card. Must be a self-starter and can accomplish all functions of the position with minimal supervision. Well-groomed, presentable appearance is essential. Applicant must read, write, and speak English fluently, as well as have basic math skills. Excellent customer service skills are essential; you must be friendly, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with the public. Applicant must be able to work weekday afternoons, nights and some weekends, and have reliable transportation.

COMPENSATION: Hourly wage at the prevailing rate of the local geographical area.

This position has no set work schedule at this time; work will be scheduled to meet the needs of the lodge.
This is a position of trust. Successful applicants must pass background checks and drug screening.
