As a baker at Hani's Bakery + Cafe, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, breads, and viennoiserie. **Job Expectations:**
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of baking and pastry techniques, production processes, and the proper use of kitchen equipment. Prior experience with viennoiserie is required.
- Efficiently execute and prepare assigned station tasks in a timely manner, adhering to the standards set by the bakery's culinary leaders.
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of ingredients and continuously learn about new ingredients used in our cuisine.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and hospitably with all team members throughout the day and during service.
- Keep your work area organized and tidy, exhibiting calm professionalism to promote food quality and reduce waste. Follow all recipes, portion control guidelines, proper storage procedures, and FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to minimize waste.
**What We Need From You:**
- Basic knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Expected to work approximately 40-50 hours per week.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are preferred but not mandatory.
