Summary:

As a member of the Arizona Cardinals Nutrition Services Department, Cook I, Football Operations (FO Cook I) is responsible for assisting with the preparation of business and football operations meals during all phases of the year.

Primary Job Duties:

The Cook I, Football Operations, will have the daily responsibilities, without limitation, to include the following:

  • Prepare raw ingredients for line use, produce dressings and marinades, assemble salads, and GNG portioned items for both Business Operations and Football Operations
  • Complete food preparation in a timely manner for chef evaluation ensuring adherence to provided menus and meal times
  • Maintain clean and organized prep and cook stations to ensure food safety and efficiency
  • Assist Front of House (FOH) operations as needed, including food service and customer interaction
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries, ensuring proper inventory management
  • Follow food safety procedures for serving, rotating, and storing food in coolers, freezers, and dry storage, using a FIFO (First In, First Out) approach, which includes labeling, dating, rotating, and screening products to meet both food safety and organizational standards
  • Support chefs in presenting and executing new recipes, staying updated on food trends
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience) and formal culinary training in all areas of meal preparation, including scratch cooking
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of experience as a pantry/cold line cook preferred
  • Previous restaurant and food service operations experience
  • Proficient knife skills, and working with food processors, blenders, and mixers
  • Strong understanding of flavor profiles, seasoning, and recipe execution
  • Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume, and cooking procedures
  • Familiar with commercial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet high standards
  • Demonstrates professionalism, proper hygiene, and uniform standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize tasks
  • Available for evenings, weekend and holiday events, off-site, and out-of-state travel
  • Excellent communication skills with chefs and teammates
  • Outgoing, goal-oriented, and demonstrates a growth mindset
  • Up to date with required certifications, including a food handler's card
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with athletes
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods, lift food deliveries and equipment up to 50 lbs., work with knives, and assist in setting up the training camp kitchen
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with athletes.
  • Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check.
