Job Description
School Year 20252026: Bilingual Front Desk Receptionist | Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts | Providence, RI TAPA: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts, an academically rigorous public charter school for the arts, seeks a full-time bilingual (English/Spanish) Front Desk Receptionist. The Receptionist is the first point of contact for all individuals entering the school building and plays a key role in maintaining a warm, welcoming, and organized front office environment.This is a full-time, in-person position from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, friendly, and fluent in both English and Spanish. They must be comfortable working with students, families, and staff and managing multiple priorities with professionalism and care.TAPA is a vibrant and creative community made stronger by the cultural, racial, ethnic, linguistic, and neurodiverse identities of our students and staff. Nearly all TAPA students are people of color, predominantly Latinx, with many speaking both English and Spanish at home. A significant number of students identify as LGBTQ+. CORE FUNCTIONS
- Serve as a welcoming, calm, and professional presence at the front desk, helping students, families, and visitors feel at ease upon arrival.
- Buzz in visitors who are present on school business; turn away unauthorized individuals as needed. Direct guests to the appropriate staff member, provide information, or call students to the front office for meetings or pick-up.
- Answer incoming phone calls, screen and route calls appropriately, take and distribute messages, retrieve voicemails, and place outgoing calls on behalf of school administrators and other designated staff.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages to ensure efficient delivery to staff members.
- Handle confidential student, family, and school information with professionalism and discretion.
- Support verbal and written communication by translating between English and Spanish as needed for school operations.
- Manage a variety of daily front office tasks, including: supervising students awaiting pick-up, receiving deliveries, assisting with volunteer sign-ins, and completing routine clerical duties.
- Track all donations to the school and ensure timely and personalized thank-you letters are sent to donors.
- Support other office staff with occasional special assignments and assist teachers in preparing instructional materials when appropriate.
