Casino Cage Cashier

It is the primary responsibility of the Cage Cashier to assist customers with credit card advances, exchanging of U. S. currency for chips, cash, and foreign currency. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Downtown Grand policies, practices and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Greet and interact with guests in a professional, welcoming and attentive manner.
  • Sale and redemption of casino chips and/or coin for cash, foreign chips, Downtown Grand chips and other like money items in a timely manner as requested by customers.
  • Issuance and redemption of markers and customer deposit/withdrawals for cash, chips, checks and/or wire transfers.
  • Process check cashing utilizing computer terminals.
  • Complete credit card advances.
  • Maintain inventory of documents and negotiable instruments.
  • Redemption of TITO tickets and customer promotion vouchers and airfare.
  • Prepare reports, assignment of company funds and recordation of departmental revenues, verification of cash, coin, documents and chip inventory (removal and rotation).
  • Establish new Players Reward rating cards within policy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Log and report all Title 31 transactions.
  • Prepare bank deposits, accounting reports, research projects and balancing assigned funds.
  • Ensure all laws, regulations, and company/departmental policies are followed.
  • Work professionally with other departments including Security, Surveillance, Casino and Finance to efficiently and properly complete day to day tasks.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year Cage Cashier, banking experience or heavy cash handling.
  • Ability to operate a computer terminal including knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Title 31 requirements.
  • Proficient with 10 key.
  • Proficient in balancing banks.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Possess an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
  • Excellence guest service.
  • Ability to solve routine problems.
  • Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Manual dexterity to access the computer keyboard and operate office equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a casino environment with smoke, loud noises, and low lighting.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including holidays.
  • Ability to move around work area effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, reach and twist as necessary.
  • Must be able to move up to 25lbs.
