What You'll Do
Turf & Plant Health Care
- Work hands-on with our plant health care and integrated pest management team.
- Apply fertilizers and treatments using advanced equipment like ride-on applicators, backpack sprayers, and tractors.
- Prepare soil for sodding and seeding with tools like tillers, Harley rakes, rock hounds, and more.
- Help keep campus safe and accessible during the winter by operating snow plows, BobCat ToolCats, and broom attachments.
- Apply de-icing materials and respond to snow events with flexibility, including on-call work during holidays and severe weather.
- Operate and maintain a wide variety of landscape and construction equipment.
- Perform routine checks and assist with equipment upkeep-your eye for detail keeps everything running smoothly.
- Take part in large-scale campus-wide leaf cleanup efforts in the fall.
- Operate powerful commercial blowers and trucks to keep the grounds looking their best.
- Support campus life by preparing for major events like football games and concerts.
- Pitch in across teams to ensure Notre Dame's campus is clean, welcoming, and event-ready.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a passion for working outdoors in all weather.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods.
- Willingness to be on call during inclement weather, including holidays.
- Prior experience with landscaping equipment and plant health care is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Drivers License
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance preferred
- Ability to obtain Indiana turf and ornamental spray license
- Ability to work on-call for emergencies and snow removal
Preferred Qualifications:
- Has 3 years of pesticide application experience.
- Proficient with fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and growth regulators
