Laundry Aide

The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-dayactivities of the Laundry Department in accordance with regulationsgoverning our facility, and as may be directed by the Director ofEnvironmental Services. - Perform day-to-day laundry functions asassigned. - Perform assigned tasks in accordance with establishedlaundry procedures. - Assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc.,are distributed to designated areas as instructed during emergencyconditions. - Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properlyset up prior to performing such duties. - Ensure that work/cleaningschedules for equipment are followed. - Report all accidents/incidentsin a timely manner to your supervisor. - Coordinate daily laundryservices with nursing services when performing routine assignments inresident living areas. - Assist with department orientation training fornew staff. - Attend departmental and staff meetings. - Perform specifictasks in accordance with daily work assignments. - Follow establishedsafety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment. - Ensurethat assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitarymanner. - Follow established policies governing the use of labels andMSDSs. - Ensure that infection control policies and procedures aremaintained when performing laundry procedures. - Discard sharps intodesignated container - Dispose of all types of refuse daily inaccordance with established sanitation procedures. - Ensure adequatelaundry/linen supplies are maintained. - Ensure that equipment iscleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
