ABOUT USWeber Basin Water Conservancy District is Northern Utah's Regional Water Supplier for: treated municipal water, wholesale irrigation water, retail secondary irrigation water, untreated industrial water and groundwater replacement water. We proudly serve the water needs in Davis, Weber, Summit, Morgan and Box Elder counties.ABOUT THE JOBIn this position, you will perform a variety of maintenance functions of the District's municipal water facilities, infrastructure, pumping plants, storage tanks, and sludge handling facilities. Training will be provided.The starting wage range is expected to be $24.55-$30.69 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. There are advancement opportunities available for this position.This position works in both indoor and outdoor climates year-round. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. but flexible schedules are available.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Not necessarily a comprehensive list.)- Assists in the maintenance of equipment associated with water treatment facilities.- Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, heavy pipe sections, and other structures.- Assists in the diagnosing, troubleshooting, updating and repair of malfunctioning plant equipment; maintains, repairs and overhauls treatment plant equipment including aeration blowers, turbidimeters, grinders, pumps and motors, compressors, dewatering equipment, valves, drive units, hydraulic control units, chlorinators, chemical feeders, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic pressure systems.- Assists in the repair and maintenance of small, low voltage electrical systems and equipment such as motors, wiring, switches, alarm systems, etc.- Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, and other structures to specified textures using hand or power tools, including floats, trowels, etc.- Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions.- Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, chemical and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.- Upholds and exhibits the District's core values (collaboration, ownership, mutual respect, professionalism, appreciation, safety, and sustainability).QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school graduation or equivalent.Experience: Prior experience is not required although some experience would be beneficial.Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the types and uses of common hand tools, materials and equipment used in general maintenance, construction, repair and laboring work. Should be familiar with basic safety practices. Knowlege of basic arithmetic is required.Special Qualifications: Must have and maintain a valid Utah driver's license and an acceptable driving record per District policy. Must have, or obtain within one year, a grade 4 water treatment operator certification from the state of Utah.
