Day Shift Cook Job Description We are seeking a dedicated cook to join our team in a corporate cafeteria setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals by following recipes, cutting produce, meats, and vegetables, assisting with making soups and salads, and ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces and areas. Additionally, the cook will provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate with both staff and customers. Responsibilities Prepare meals by following specific recipes provided. Cut and prepare produce, meats, and vegetables. Assist in making soups and salads. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces and areas. Provide quality customer service and communicate effectively with staff and customers. Essential Skills Proficient cooking and food preparation skills. Strong knife skills for cutting vegetables, meats, and produce. Knowledge of food safety practices, including the safe use of knives and cookware. Ability to follow recipes accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 6 months of cooking or food-related experience. Completion of culinary school or cooking school is preferred. Experience as a line cook or working in food service environments such as fast food, restaurants, or hotels. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in one of two cafeterias located at the Rio Rancho Intel site (RR5 and RR7), with potential expansion to a new cafeteria in the future. The position involves a Monday to Friday PM day shift schedule. Job Type & Location This position is based out of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
