JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for cleanliness of the casino and hotel public areas including casino floor, hotel lobbies, back of the house, restaurants, Spa, hotel rooms and outside the complex for Harrahs Atlantic City. Plans and directs the activities of the Managers. Responsible for maintaining a smooth operation, maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, maximizing labor efficiency; maintaining budgeted labor costs and guaranteeing safe working conditions.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the casino and hotel public areas, including casino floor, hotel lobby, restaurants, spa and back of house areas at the property
  • Directs the staffing, planning and organization of the department for the property; maintains staffing levels and schedules to ensure a cost efficient, productive operation. .
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of training programs for all Housekeeping and Public Area personnel.
  • Establishes standards and work procedures; inspects and evaluates physical condition of hotel and common areas, consults with Senior Management on necessary repair work.
  • Researches new products and cleaning equipment; recommends accordingly
  • Prepares housekeeping forecast and budget analysis; responsible for effective cost control relative to payroll, supply, and other expense items.
  • Responsible for controlling uniform purchases and inventory conforming to budget projections for each department user and brand standards.
  • Develops preventive maintenance schedules for all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for ensuring administrative functions are completed in accordance to policy, including counseling, commendations, disciplinary actions, terminations, grievance hearings, etc.
  • Assist with development of short-term and long-range planning goals
  • Administer and communicate policies and procedures to ensure employee performance standards are maintained
  • Manages all work projects, including redecorating and heavy cleaning, ensuring that high levels of productivity are maintained and completion schedules are met
  • Conduct periodic random inspections of facility to ensure standards are being upheld; recommend changes to process as necessary
  • Responsible for departmental compliance and safety procedures
  • Work proactively in conjunction with the Facilities department to correct any potential guest service issues
  • Maintain consistency in counseling, discipline and communications
  • Handles administrative and personnel functions of department. Ensures housekeeping and EVS activities are coordinated with other departments.
  • Monitors and reviews the performance of direct reports to ensure that departmental goals and objectives are met.
  • Ensures effective communication is maintained within areas of responsibility by informing employees of plans and progress and conducting employee discussion sessions at regular intervals.
  • When accessing restricted casino area, must have security escort.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum three years supervisory experience in Housekeeping, EVS or related area. Experience in the management of a large staff helpful.

  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Starting Rate $95,000 - $100,000
