Chef, Sous Chef or experienced Cook Opportunity at Green Meadows Schoolhouse!

Green Meadows Schoolhouse is seeking a dedicated Chef, Sous Chef, or experienced Cook to lead our farm-to-table, scratch-made kitchen preparing wholesome, homemade meals for our little learners each day.

As the Chef in our all-inclusive early learning program, you’ll craft breakfast, lunch, and snacks from scratch using high-quality ingredients and seasonal produce in a well-equipped kitchen. You’ll enjoy:

  Work-life balance with a consistent Monday - Friday schedule (typically 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

Daily Responsibilities:

• Plan cycle menus that are simple, wholesome, and organic
• Control portions to ensure balanced meals
• Utilize knife skills to prepare ingredients
• Manage food quality and ensure freshness
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen
• Handle food safely while maintaining compliance with ODA, Delaware Public Health District & Franklin County Public Health

Required Skills:

• Experience in food preparation and catering
• Baking skills to create delicious treats
• Knowledge of food program management
• ServSafe Certified for Food Manager & Food Handler
• Expertise in food safety and cooking techniques
• Kitchen Management
• Food Cost Management

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in ordering
• Basic Computer Skills
• Ability to handle closing, stocking, and purchasing

Salary and Benefits:

• Minimum Salary: $42,000.00
• Maximum Salary: $60,000.00 + Bonus & Commission
