Host Sweet Linda (East Village, NYC)
Sweet Linda is a cocktail bar and restaurant in the East Village, serving up old-school hospitality with new-school flair. Our team is growing, and were seeking an experienced, polished, and intuitive Host to be the first face our guests see and the steady hand behind the flow of our service. This is a critical role that sets the tone for the guest experiencegrace under pressure, genuine warmth, and exceptional coordination are all musts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests with confidence, charm, and warmth

  • Manage reservations and seating using Resy, constantly adjusting to floor needs

  • Maintain cleanliness and order at the host stand and guest entry

  • Provide real-time updates on table status and delays to service staff and management

  • Clearly and professionally communicate wait times and manage expectations with poise

  • Perform regular checks on guest-facing areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality

  • Offer service when needed

  • Support team in maintaining a smooth service by resetting tables between seatings

  • Record guest notes and preferences in Resy profiles to help build loyal relationships

  • Identify and flag VIPs, birthdays, or special requests for management and service team

  • Assist with light training and support other FOH stations when needed

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced, upscale dining or nightlife environment

  • Familiarity with Resy and/or similar restaurant management software

  • Calm, composed, and courteouseven during the busiest rush

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a polished demeanor

  • Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Passion for hospitality, team energy, and great service

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with basic food/wine/cocktail knowledge

  • Ability to speak a second language is a plus

  • NY Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($21.00 - $25.00)
