Janitor C - Union (Patrick Sullivan Apartments)

WinnCompanies is looking for a thorough and dedicated Janitor to join our team at Patrick Sullivan Apartments, a 479-unit senior housing and RAD property located in Chicago, IL.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing cleaning functions in homes and common areas. Please note that this is a union position and will eligible for benefits provided by the union.
Additionally, the pay rate for this position is $21.67 per hour. The selected candidate will adhere to the following regular work schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:00AM to 4:00PM. Responsibilities

• Responsible for the following, but not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing entire building including, bathrooms, lobby, community room, windows, walls, floors, stairwells, laundry rooms, elevators, and carpets; emptying trash cans; sweeping sidewalks; setting up hoses, raking lawns and flower beds, planting flowers, and installing mulch.
• Mop, vacuum, and dust assigned areas.
• Take out trash and recycling. Clean vacant units.
• Remove snow and ice from walkways, parking lots, driveways as needed.
• Perform each cleaning function in accordance with the property's prescribed daily schedule.
• Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition. Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies.
• Complete light maintenance tasks and special projects as needed.
• Assist with lockouts after hours as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues to management.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of relevant residential cleaning experience.
• Ability to complete the Local 1 Union training upon hire.
• Ability to understand spoken and written English.
• Ability to respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
• Ability to carry and maintain all cleaning supplies necessary for routine functions.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior stripping and waxing experience.
