Shift Lead - Bien Cuit Bakery

Bien Cuit is a James Beard-nominated, Brooklyn-based retail and wholesale bakery focusing on handcrafted bread and pastry. We are a seeking team members who are hands-on and have significant experience in the Food and Beverage industry.

Bien Cuit is looking for a shift lead to join our team!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comprehensively selling our unique line of baked goods
Expertly making coffee, espresso and tea beverages
Staying informed on all menu items. Remembering all ingredients and important production procedures of all items
Carefully packaging cakes
Accurately handling cash at POS
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Assists store manager with coverage/covers call outs as needed
Assists store manager with inventory reporting, organization, and cleaning as needed
Delegates tasks to baristas on shift in the absence of manager
Complying with all DOH regulations

Ability to think quickly and problem-solve
Highly skilled and consistent in all areas of coffee and tea service
Able to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization behind the bar
Able to communicate effectively with management, peers and guests
Customer service oriented/ friendly personality

EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:
2+ years experience and proven technical expertise as a barista and counterperson
New York Food Handlers Certificate is mandatory
General knowledge of register/point of sale systems
Ability to multitask
Flexible schedule -- must work weekends
