Position Overview:
The Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for guests or customers at a hotel, office, or facility. This role involves managing front desk operations, providing excellent customer service, handling reservations or appointments, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests or visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
Check guests in and out efficiently, ensuring accuracy of reservation details.
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls as necessary.
Handle guest requests, complaints, and provide information about the facility, services, and local area.
Maintain accurate records of guest information, payments, and room assignments.
Process payments, issue receipts, and manage cash or credit card transactions.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms or facilities are ready and in good condition.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
Perform general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Monitor security by following procedures and reporting irregularities.
Assist with administrative support as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in customer service or front desk operations is an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computers and basic office software (e.g., MS Office).
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
