Job Summary: Performs routine custodial and maintenance tasks, plumbing/irrigation for the pool and parks, grounds maintenance and snow removal. Additionally, this position may be assigned to maintenance duties at other City buildings and facilities. In addition to regularly scheduled hours, this position is on-call and occasionally requires a flexible schedule.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Five (5) years of combined experience in building maintenance, grounds maintenance, light electrical, plumbing, water pumps and boiler maintenance, and or HVAC maintenance.
* Possess or obtain an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification within six (6) months of appointment and maintain for the duration of employment.
* Possess a valid driver's license or obtain within one month of hire date and have an acceptable driving record.
Duties:
* Performs general custodial work including sweeping, mopping, waxing and vacuuming floors, emptying wastebaskets, woodwork, and washing windows inside and outside.
* Monitors and performs irrigation repairs.
* Maintains landscaping surrounding buildings including snow and leaf removal from sidewalks and parking lots.
* Assists with daily pool maintenance tasks including maintaining water quality, functional mechanical room operations, and chemical storage.
* Performs minor plumbing, masonry, carpentry and painting work on park facilities.
* Performs litter clean-up of parks, municipal properties and landscaped areas.
* Operates motorized equipment, including but not limited to; riding mowers, tractors, trenching equipment, dump trucks and snow removal equipment.
* Assist with facility rentals and customer needs.
* Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as requested.
* Interacts and works cooperatively with patrons using facilities.
* Orders and stock supplies as needed.
* Maintains work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary and benefits:
* Starting at $3,817 - $4,830 per month, depending on experience.
* Family Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Insurance / Life and Disability Insurance / Life Flight Membership / VEBA-Health Reimbursement Account / Retirement-Employer contribution of 13% after six months of employment / Paid Vacation, Holiday, and Sick Leave.
