Job Description
We are seeking a Dishwasher to be responsible for a variety of kitchen tasks that support the deli operations in keeping the kitchen clean and organized.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Washes, stacks, sorts, and stores dishes, glassware, utensils and cookware ensuring dish area is organized and meeting cleanliness standards.
Cleans stove burners, pans, drains, covers, and cook tables, underneath, behind, and in front of stove/oven.
Maintains clean, dry floors by thoroughly sweeping, spraying, mopping when necessary throughout the shift.
Monitors trash cans, making sure to take our garbage and recycling regularly.
Takes care of transferring, cooling, and storing (including labeling and dating) of selected menu items, knows and follows proper rotation, understands and avoids food temperature danger zone, and knows what to do during Health Inspections.
Assists with opening and closing procedures, adhering to all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation ensuring commitment to only sending out high quality food products while keeping waste to a minimum.
Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properly, attends all Deli department meetings, and maintains respectful communication with co-workers.
Practice behaviors that exhibit a strong work ethic and encourage teamwork
Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to build relationships, learn quickly, and maintain strong interpersonal skills.
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to high-level staff.
Able to perform assigned tasks within various areas of the department.
Ability to exhibit a strong work ethic and encourage teamwork.
Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Kitchen experience preferred but not required.
Current food handler's card and other certification as required by federal, state, or local agencies a plus.
Physical Demands:
Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a grocery setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 50lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
