WEEKEND BRUNCH SERVER!

Earn extra money with a weekend side gig. Alpana Restaurant is looking for a part-time server to work Saturday/Sunday brunch. Good earning potential. Brunch shifts start at 9 am and last seating is at 2 pm.

ABOUT ALPANA: Located on the corner of State and Pearson in Chicagos historic Gold Coast neighborhood, Alpana is a stylish bistro serving wine-inspired New American fare in a convivial and relaxed setting.

SERVER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a great dining experience for our guests
  • Communicate with manager and kitchen about allergies or dietary restrictions
  • Enter all food and drinks orders into TOAST point of sale system.
  • Prepare checks, collect accurate payment, and enter tips correctly.
  • Attend mandatory weekly wine training
  • Present and pour wine ordered at the table adhering to wine service standards.
  • Prepare checkout at the end of your shift following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Serve food and beverage and attend to dining guests and ensure guests receive excellent service
  • Respond promptly and courteously to correct any guest concerns about service or quality.
  • Ensure the restaurant is presentable and ready for guests at all times, perform side work as required and ensure side-work is done.
  • Complete opening or closing tasks as required by shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years serving experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • willing to work nights and weekends and arrive in time to complete pre-shift sidework and pre-shift meetings
  • must be able to attend weekly wine trainings
  • team player, gets along well with others and honors an ethos of a safe and inclusive environment
  • polished, professional, warm and hospitable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 10- 20lbs if necessary including trays of food
  • Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment.
  • Stand and walk for the entirety of an eight-hour shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant.
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($11.02) plus tips
