As a Cook, you will be creating a welcoming and satisfying dining experience for our hotel guests by preparing fresh, high-quality meals in a clean and organized kitchen environment. You’ll play a key role in both our breakfast and evening dining services, ensuring that each dish is prepared with care, consistency, and efficiency. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in fast-paced food service environments—such as cafés or quick-service restaurants—who are passionate about delivering great food and friendly service. We anticipate the weekly schedule to include approximately three morning (breakfast) shifts and two evening shifts; however, this is subject to change based on business levels and operational needs. A successful candidate must be willing to “pitch-in” and help coworkers with their job duties and be a team player regardless of department.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items for breakfast and/or dinner service, adhering to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies and equipment.
Assist with the setup, serving, and cleanup of meal services.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including fryers, and ovens.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
Monitor food stock to ensure adequate inventory levels.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and quality meal preparation.
Adapt to various roles within the kitchen as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, such as fast food or casual dining establishments.
- Smart Serve and Food Handling Certified (Required within 30-days of hire).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong Written and oral grasp of the English Language (Bilingualism is an asset).
- Ability to Lift, pull and push moderate weight (min 20lbs).
