Position Overview As an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic you will assist with thediagnostic and preventative maintenance of company fleet programand equipment, to include hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic,automotive, diesel and heavy equipment repair. Primary Responsibilities Performs routine and emergency maintenance and repair of roadtractors and other heavy equipment Conducts inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines,hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical,air conditioning, air brakes, computer diagnostics andwelding/fabricating. Performs daily preventative maintenance inspections, repairs,and scheduling Performs preventive maintenance inspections (PMI);troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles andequipment; ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/orreplacement of components Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpretfailure modes to initiate or assign repairs Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs andrequisitions new parts Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns Conducts safety checks on vehicles Completes required paperwork associated with repairingvehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repairtimes Works under limited supervision using written or verbalinstructions and established procedures to accomplish assignedtasks Maximizes equipment availability using an efficient andproactive preventative maintenance program Performs other duties as assignedQualifications Knowledge of advanced automotive and equipment servicing andrepair; general use of personal computer and other relateddiagnostic equipment Ability to understand and follow verbal and writteninstructions Experience in troubleshooting vehicle service and repairissues Experience operating fueling equipment Experience using pressure equipment to wash and cleanvehicles Ability to perform heavy physical labor Ability to operate computer and/or other related equipment Ability to follow PRS safety protocols and safe workpractices. Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevantareas, develop the business and services to enhance customersatisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manageinformation, and provide exceptional service to internal andexternal customers. Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery,team building, and the ability to stay current with relevanttechnology and innovation. Must demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and theability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuouslearning. Must have or be willing to obtain a valid class A driverslicense. Diesel technician or mechanic degree is a plusEducation and/orExperience 5 years related experience and/or training in automotive/commercial vehicle/ heavy equipment repair Proficiency in diagnosing and repair of diesel engines, Slurrytruck, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components,electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, and computerdiagnostics Experience doing preventative maintenance inspections andscheduling Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair,certification preferredWhy Join ESOP Retirement Benefits are extended to all employees withparticipation after one year of service.
