Maintenance Mechanic - Garland 3rd Shift - $33.50 Job Description Join a leading global food and beverage company as a Maintenance Mechanic Technician where your skills will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment. You will be troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various equipment to uphold our high standards of quality and productivity. Responsibilities Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production and facilities equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective measures using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs. Collaborate with production associates and management to resolve production issues and optimize efficiencies. Observe mechanical devices in operation to identify causes of trouble. Assist with planning and scheduling for CMMS tracking, including work orders, parts, and purchase requisitions. Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to access and remove defective parts. Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures. Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines using the SAP Work Order system and document hours worked on applicable work orders. Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment. Weld, perform sheet metal work, and utilize basic shop floor skills such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools. Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings. Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals. Essential Skills Minimum of three years' experience in repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment. Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition. Prior experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000. Ability to work on multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining professional demeanor with customers and co-workers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food and beverage manufacturing is a plus but not required. Ability to weld and perform sheet metal work. Experience with heavy equipment and electrical troubleshooting. Work Environment Work in a dynamic and fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing industry, where the environment is non-climate controlled.
