Job DetailsCrown Shy is the first solo project of Chef James Kent. Inspired by Jamess upbringing in downtown New York and his experience leading the citys most celebrated kitchens, Crown Shy is a neighborhood seasonal restaurant elevated by fine dining training and technique.
Located on the ground floor of Art Deco masterpiece 70 Pine Street, the dining room and bar occupy a series of rooms with floor to 16-foot-ceiling windows leading to an open kitchen.
The food at Crown Shy is rooted in European technique but draws inspiration from around the world, primarily the flavors from our childhoods, traveling, and the diverse cuisine in New York City.
Crown Shy has been awarded 1 Michelin star & 2 stars by the NYT and has been acknowledged as one of the most popular new restaurants in the city by multiple publications.

The Bartenders job is just that; to tend the bar. You are one of the first interactions with our restaurant that a guest has and, also, often one of the last. You must be able to create unique and personalized guest experiences for all: from guests who are dining at the bar, to guests who are grabbing a quick drink after work. Bartenders must possess leadership skills, be personable with guests and be able to anticipate their needs- working with a warm, knowledgeable & noticeably appreciative demeanor. It is the responsibility of the Bartender to coordinate bar activities to achieve the restaurants common goal of guest satisfaction. The Bartender must be able to cooperate with Managers and co-workers as this role is integral to the success of the restaurant. Above all, the Bartender must always lead by example.
Crown Shy believes in a whole house mentality and we expect all departments (Pastry, Savory, Dining Room, and Facilities) to support and motivate each other to achieve our goal of guest satisfaction. As a Server, you will interact with all of these departments regularly and should be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with your co workers & managers.
This is a full time position. Crown Shy is open 7 days a week. We are closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
