Camp Waldemar is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Hot Line Cook to join our vibrant kitchen team for the upcoming camp season. As a Hot Line Cook, youll play a key role in the daily preparation and execution of high-volume meals, while supporting the Executive Chef in delivering consistent quality, efficiency, and safety in every plate served.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Execution & Preparation
Execute menu items as directed by the Executive Chef
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and portion guidelines
Ensure timely service for daily meals and special camp events
Kitchen Operations
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in line with health and safety regulations
Follow kitchen opening and closing procedures with attention to detail
Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs to management
Team Collaboration
Work closely with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth, high-functioning operation
Assist in training seasonal staff on cooking procedures and kitchen protocols
Foster a positive, teamwork-oriented environment
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
Help accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies
Qualifications
2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume setting (camp or banquet-style preferred)
Current Food Handler Certification required (Manager Certification a plus)
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food allergy procedures
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Strong communication skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Reliable, professional, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
