Description

The Table Games Dealer-in-Training is responsible for learning all technical duties required to provide an entertaining, fun atmosphere for guests while dealing table games according to the game rules of the table they are working.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends all scheduled classes on time. Classes are tentatively scheduled to be held on Monday - Friday (times & start date to be determined).
  • Learns how to deal Blackjack and side wagers according to the rules of the game being played.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude with instructors and other students.
  • On the Job training may be administered; students need to be able to go out on the floor at any time.
  • Adheres to all Table Games Departmental Policies.
  • Responsible for passing all aptitude tests regarding technical and mathematical skills required to become a Table Games Dealer.
  • Upon passing all required aptitude tests and with the approval of the instructor, students may fill out an Internal Transfer Request to transfer into a Dealer position.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY

  • Minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a math test.
  • Must be able to operate basic equipment such as automated shufflers, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
  • Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
