Required Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma.
This position requires work experience in the following areas:
Skills in custodial work and six months or one-year experience in janitorial work or comparable experience may be accepted. Post-secondary course work is considered a valuable asset.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to use common sense techniques.
Ability to identify problems and determine the best course of action for their resolution.
Ability to critically evaluate information for accuracy and usefulness in solving problems.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers.
Basic written skills to accurately complete reports and other paper work
Valid Driver's License
Job Responsibilities:
Pick up trash inside and outside of building
Empty trashcans and haul off trash
Sweep and wet mop hard surface floors
Vacuum and shampoo carpet floors
Vacuum doormats
Buff, strip and wax floors
Disinfect and wipe clean all horizontal surfaces to include desk, chairs, tables, window sills, etc.
Sweep sidewalks as needed
Clean bathrooms daily to include sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, mirrors, baseboards, hand dryers
Check and restock all paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, etc. daily
Clean all glass at entrance/exit areas and other glass as needed
Disinfect and wipe down high touch surfaces to include: handrails, door knobs, panic bars, elevator buttons, handicap buttons, water fountains, vending machines, light switches, hand washing stations, etc.
Keep inventory of supplies and request supplies when needed
Clean air vents
Check all doors are locked daily.
Assist with light maintenance tasks to include: change batteries in auto faucets, flush sensors, hand sanitizer stations, etc.
Assist Facilities with setups and tear downs for events
Supervision of Work-Study student workers
Assist with grounds keeping, maintenance and snow removal as needed
Perform other related duties as needed or assigned
