Custodian - Full Time; Full Benefits

Port Clinton City Schools is accepting applications for a custodian for Port Clinton High School, 11:00pm - 7:00am shift.

Perform a variety of tasks to ensure cleanliness of building (e.g. scrubs, disinfects, dusts, wet mops, vacuums, strips, sweeps, waxes, empties trash, replenishes paper products and etc., change light bulbs, clock batteries)

Use small tools common to the job (hammer, pliers, lawnmower, screwdriver, weed eater and etc.)

See that all heating/cooling units are clean, and operating satisfactorily (e.g. tests as necessary and reports problems to appropriate personnel).

Accepts shipments of items for building.

Opens and closes building by unlocking and locking doors, turns off lights and secures windows.

Maintain grounds around building (mowing, weeding, trim shrubbery, removes snow and ice and keeps trash picked up).

Make small building repairs

High school diploma or equivalent. Post secondary training is desirable

Performs tasks in a self-directed manner.

Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs.

Demonstrate ability to read and interpret labels and warnings used on cleaning solutions.

History of regular and predictable job attendance.

Must pass mandated criminal background checks.

Must pass a written and physical competency test.

Ability to work cooperatively with fellow workers.
