POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Experience in general building maintenance, ability to lift heavy objects. 20 hours a week BASIC PURPOSE: The incumbent functions as primary building cleaning and maintenance person; performing general maintenance duties for the assigned center. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Sweep and mop all classrooms, hallways, offices and kitchen floors of assigned center daily. Clean and disinfect all children and adult lavatories at assigned center daily, including basins, mirrors, toilets and floors. Replace soap in dispensers, paper towels and toilet tissue as needed. Empty all trash receptacles daily and wash as necessary. Vacuum all rugs daily. Requisition appropriate cleaning supplies; maintaining adequate supply closet. Strip, wax, and buff floors a minimum of twice a year as directed by supervisor. Wash lavatory walls weekly. Clean other walls and woodwork monthly Wash windows twice a year. Maintain building entrances (outside and immediately inside of doors.) Assist moving supplies, furniture, fixtures as needed, within assigned center as well as between centers. Perform simple, routine maintenance as required. Is reliable and generally can be counted on to adhere to agreed upon work hours/schedule. Perform other related duties as assigned such as seasonal outdoor work
