About the Role In this role you assist in the cafe onsite at our Groveport distribution center. A serve safe certification is needed. You will help with register, food prep, cleaning, inventory, and other duties as needed. What You'll Do [At Gap Inc., we are committed to fostering a safe working environment. For this role, we can also accommodate (Spanish or French) speakers even if they do not speak basic English.] Center on the customer by providing a pleasant experience Ability to operate cash register and manage cash flow Attend to the detail and presentation of each order Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures Prep & Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sauteing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients when necessary Maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items Stores leftovers according to health codes Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team Serv Safe Certification is required to be obtained (Paid for by Gap) Stocking & Inventory assistance Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stack cartons, while standing or walking for up to 12 hours at a time. Associates may be required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. (range may vary based on work assignment). Ability to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, and overtime when needed. Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems. Ability to learn standard operating procedures acquired through on-the-job training. Ability to learn standard operating procedures acquired through on-the-job training, to include power industrial vehicle (PIV) where applicable. Ability to independently login to a computer and operate digital tablets or electronic wearable device. Ability to independently complete a self-guided orientation on the computer or digital tablet. For employee safety, it is necessary to have a basic level of English [or Spanish or French] written and oral proficiency to communicate with Supervisors and understand safety signage and protocols.
