New Canaan - Barista & {Sourdough} Bagels

Were a cozy, community-focused cafe serving up high-quality coffee and house-made sourdough bagels. We care about bagels, coffee, and connectionboth with our ingredients and our guests.

This is a 25-30 hour a week position.

Were looking for a friendly, dependable, and passionate individual to join our team at Badass Bagels. This is a dual role that involves preparing and serving espresso drinks, brewing coffee, and handling our fresh, daily-made sourdough bagelsslicing, toasting, topping, and making simple sandwiches to order. We also sell a variety of pantry items and frozen foods, all of which you will need to be knowledgable on.

Key Responsibilities:

Barista Duties:

Prepare high-quality espresso drinks and brewed coffee to spec

Maintain knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment

Keep the espresso bar clean, organized, and well-stocked

Engage with guests in a friendly and efficient manner

Handle POS transactions accurately and quickly

Bagel Counter Duties:

Slice, toast, and top bagels to order

Assemble bagel sandwiches with ease and skill

Follow food safety and cleanliness standards at all times

Restock bagel displays and prep ingredients as needed

Ensure the counter area is clean and inviting throughout the day

What We're Looking For:

Previous barista or cafe experience preferred

A love for good coffee, good food, and good people

Strong communication and multitasking skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
