Salary: $55,000-$65,000/annually

We're looking for a passionate and skilled Sous Chef with a strong foundation in authentic Japanese cuisine to support our Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations. What You'll Do:
Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations with precision and care
Prepare and oversee dishes across various Japanese formats - sushi, teppanyaki, ramen, kaiseki, and more
Uphold consistency, quality, and authenticity in preparation, flavor, and presentation
Help lead a high-performing team, mentoring junior staff and maintaining a culture of excellence
Maintain high standards for cleanliness, food safety, and inventory control
Support menu planning, batch cooking, and large-scale catering execution
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service in a high-volume setting
Job Summary
What You'll Bring:
3-5 years of experience in a Japanese kitchen, with exposure to multiple traditional styles
Strong knife skills and knowledge of authentic ingredients, preparation techniques, and aesthetics
Experience in fast-paced, high-volume foodservice operations
Ability to lead by example and communicate effectively with the culinary team
Understanding of food cost, portion control, and sanitation standards
Familiarity with kitchen technology and basic proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office and Outlook
ServSafe certification preferred
Culinary degree or equivalent on-the-job training
