May beexposed to patients with communicable disease and situations and orpatients that have the potential for exposure to infectious / hazardousmaterials. Employee will be provided personal protective equipment andmust use PPE correctly.Physical requirements:Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feelobjects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands or arms.Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ormove up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability toadjust focus.Responsibilities:First thing in the morning, unlock the doors at **0845** and check thelobby for cleanliness, turn the TV on and open windows.Review the computer schedule daily at the beginning and end of everyweek and make sure there are no issues. Make sure you keep your minicalendar at your desk up to date and review the office schedule calendardaily for any changes.Water plants as needed.Answer telephones and distributes calls as needed. Always maintain afriendly attitude.Utilize the Receptionist phone duties sheet attached.Phones need to be answered by 3rd ring.Only put your telephone on unavailable/DND in emergencysituations-always let other receptionist know when you do this.Check for faxes, date stamp it and distribute accordingly.Incoming faxes must be stamped and distributed at least once Q2 hrs.Outgoing faxes must be faxed at least once Q2hrs.Call and remind patients of appointments the work day prior.Clean lobby when needed and use appropriate disinfectant-must be checkedover lunch daily.When patient walks up to your window, greet them by saying GoodMorning/Afternoon, what can I help you with?\" If you are in the middleof something say Ill be right with you.Verify all patient demographic information when on the phone with themdouble checking it when patient shows up for their appointment. Patientsare now required and a sign is posted, to show proof of insurance and aphoto ID at every appointment.This includes birthdate, insurance, telephone #, address, employment,email, spouse & other contact info, guarantor if underage, etc.This must be done with each phone call and each patient that is checkedin.Payments need to be given to Office Administrator and cash box counteddaily by both receptionists. Keep cash box in locked drawer.Make sure to collect all co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, nc/ns fees,and any other fees that are required. If a patient has no insurance,there is an upfront down payment of \$65 required that will go towardtheir visit that day before the patient can be seen. **Never** check ina patient until they have paid their fees. If you have questionsregarding money issues, always ask the Business Office Administrator orClinic l Office Administrator. Warning notes will be put in patientschart as we find billing issues, but if you note that a patient has ahigh back bill (over \$500), the patient needs to see the BusinessOffice Administrator if they have no billing arrangements set up yet.Typically we require at least a \$50 monthly payment for every \$500 apatient owes.Have paperwork ready.All new patients must have new patient packets given to them whilechecking in.All KB
