Position Overview:

The Maintenance Mechanic supports plant operations by maintaining plant equipment of the respective business unit to meet and/or exceed the business units goals and objectives in safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer service. The Maintenance Mechanic ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative & corrective maintenance requirements on various types of industrial equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Adhering to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards and policies by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury/illness to oneself & others from exposure to hazards. Following all permit procedures including but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, confined space, arc flash and work at heights as required.
  • Utilizing computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document maintenance activities including time spent, parts used, and description of work performed, abnormalities identified and follow up actions needed.
  • Performing maintenance activities preventative, corrective, breakdown and work orders to improve equipment performance, reliability and product quality in a timely manner as scheduled or assigned.
  • Addressing and resolving any equipment and systems faults related to the ASRS, conveyors or other equipment in the Cooler Warehouse. This task is physically demanding as employee must climb inside the ASRS up to 10 levels high wearing the required fall protection equipment.
  • Using reasoning and analysis to troubleshoot equipment & parts failures to improve equipment performance during maintenance activities as well as by participating in focused improvement activities as assigned.
  • Using and cares for personal and company tools & equipment in a professional manner by utilizing tools & equipment as they were designed to be used.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work site while performing maintenance activities and well as general areas assigned.
  • Responding timely for maintenance assistance. Coordinates with maintenance & area owner leadership to prioritize work activities.
  • Communicating with maintenance & area owners timely regarding safety issues, quality issues and work completion delays.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

About You

Essential Skills:

  • Mechanic must demonstrate strong competency in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulics and basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use powered industrial equipment. (forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack)
  • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical drawings/schematics, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrates the ability to write routine reports, SOPs and correspondence as well as speak effectively to employees and customers.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and reasoning skills and the ability to understand and execute from instructions.
  • Demonstrates mathematical skills to calculate, compute, resolve, interpret, and to formulate for problem solving. Thorough understanding of mechanical procedures as related to manufacturing maintenance applications.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of machine functions, equipment safety hazards, power source, stored energy, pinch points, and possesses experienced welding skills.
  • Understands and demonstrates maintenance food safety techniques to ensure product quality while performing maintenance activities. Responsible for meeting or exceeding all established quality standards
  • Completes all appropriate assigned safety, health and environmental training in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring personal compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies, and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with minimal supervision to complete maintenance activities timely.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
