Location Description

The Flamingo Resort & Spa is a mid-century marvel in The Valley of the Moon. The buildings, rendered with natural materials and iconic angular silhouettes, are the work of master architect Homer A. Rissman. Set on a 10-acre campus, it is an incomparable property for both its city access and sense of complete retreat.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to oversee the housekeeping operations at our 170-room resort. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, while leading a team of housekeeping staff to maintain the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage daily operations of the housekeeping department, including room attendants, housepersons, laundry staff, and supervisors.

  • Plan and schedule staff shifts, monitor productivity, and ensure coverage based on occupancy and operational needs.

  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand and safety standards.

  • Manage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies, linens, uniforms, and equipment within budget guidelines.

  • Train, coach, and mentor team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service.

  • Collaborate with front desk and maintenance teams to address room status, guest requests, and maintenance issues promptly.

  • Monitor department performance metrics, such as room turn times, guest satisfaction scores, and internal audit results.

  • Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and health regulations, hotel policies, and industry standards.

  • Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff development planning.



Qualifications

  • 3+ years of housekeeping management experience in a hotel or resort setting (preferably 100+ rooms).

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of housekeeping equipment, chemicals, and OSHA safety standards.

  • Experience with property management systems (e.g., Opera, Alice, HotSOS, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.



Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $70,000.00/Yr. - $80,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
