Trinity Metro is seeking a Shelter Cleaner to join our team. This role involves providing cleaning and repair services for train platforms, bus shelters, and transfer stations. Responsibilities include repairing and replacing bus shelters, installing or removing signs, and supporting other custodial units and the service station.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operates company vehicles, small truck with mounted hot water pressure washer, and parking lot scrubbers.
- Operates weed eaters, leaf blowers, and a variety of power tools.
- Picks up trash, empties trash cans, and properly disposes of trash.
- Controls assigned equipment to assist in the effort to eliminate loss.
- When issues pertaining to equipment and vehicles arise, the incumbent must follow up with the supervisor, small vehicle shop, and building maintenance technicians. This is to ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained, and the assigned equipment is in proper working condition.
- Checks all fluid levels of equipment prior to use, ensuring their proper operating levels.
- Performs inventory management of supplies used and required to maintain job function. Submit a request for supplies by message or in person to the supervisor when quantities become low to prevent lost time due to low inventory.
- Complete pre-trip inspections daily to monitor the vehicle's damage and condition.
- Collects and records data regarding the status of shelters.
- Establishes and maintains a team-oriented mentality. Communication will be key so that co-workers know where incumbent left off and where they need to start back up.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be reliable, organized, and flexible.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects from 100 to 175 pounds.
- Able to climb stairs, onto and off forklifts, trailers, truck beds, and around other various locations in the shops.
- Access confined spaces.
- Must be able to maintain a continuous standing posture for the duration of the shift.
- Physical activity includes but is not limited to repetitive postures-bending, climbing, crouching, grabbing, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, and stooping; vision to operate/fix/use various kinds of machinery, parts, and materials; hearing when communicating with coworkers; moving about facilities to ensure safety and security; and tolerating extremely loud noise and different temperature extremes.
EXPERIENCE
One year of experience cleaning a commercial facility is preferred.
SHIFT DETAILS
Sunday through Thursday 6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
